Not a social contract

In the first Flash Seminar of the 2012-13 academic year,¬†Stephen Mathis, associate professor of philosophy,¬†discusses the characteristics of social contracts and why Wheaton’s honor code and other codes of conduct don’t fit the mold.

The Flash Seminar Series is a student-run program of short lectures on current and engaging topics. Lectures are announced online; attendance is capped at the first 15 people to sign up. The intent is to create an informal venue for intellectual conversations outside the classroom.
