  • Great Woods Chamber Orchestra featuring Daniel Bernard Roumain

    May 8, 2016
    Visiting Artist, hip-hop violinist and composer Roumain (DBR) performs his Woodbox Violin Concerto with the GWCO as part of the culmination of his yearlong residency at Wheaton. He will also perform world premieres of music for violin, written especially for him by Wheaton student composers. Winners of Wheaton's Concerto-Aria competition will also perform. Suggested donation $5.

  • Jazz Band, spring 2016

    Wheaton College Jazz Band

    The jazz band, under the direction of Assistant Professor of Music Jeff Cashen, performs a mix of traditional and contemporary jazz tunes by composers such as Wayne Shorter, Thelonius Monk, Charles Mingus and Ornette Coleman. The concert will also feature Wheaton vocalists performing with the full and smaller combos. Guest ensemble the Phat Police will open the show.
