6th Annual Pay It Forward Challenge
Friday, April 22–Friday, April 29, 2022
One hundred eighty-seven years ago—on April 22—the Wheaton Female Seminary opened its doors to its first 50 students. Since that day, Wheaton’s mission to provide a transformative educational experience with timeless liberal arts values has shaped the lives of more than 28,500 alumni, who have each gone into the world and begun paying it forward by creating their own ripple effect of change on society. To honor Wheaton’s liberal arts mission and values that have stood strong over the years, the Pay It Forward Challenge is an opportunity for community members to support the college during a week-long giving initiative, which provides our students and faculty with the much-needed resources that continues to support the promise and possibility of fueling Wheaton’s transformative educational experience through the Wheaton Fund.
During Wheaton’s 6th Annual Pay It Forward Challenge donations made through the Wheaton Fund will be matched dollar-for-dollar—up to $187,000—in challenge funds established by a generous group of 41 Wheaton alumni, parents, staff, and friends.

Pay It Forward by Leaving a Legacy
What will your legacy be?
A legacy gift can benefit both you and Wheaton—all during your lifetime and afterward. We can help you find the best way to make your gift, and perhaps find a gift option that you might not have otherwise thought was possible, such as:
Estate Planning
You could add an addendum to your will or trust that designates an amount or percentage to go to Wheaton. A clear advantage of this gift is that it does not impact your current lifestyle at all, but it does provide Wheaton with assets for its future stability.
Life Income Gifts
You could establish a charitable gift annuity that you would provide you with fixed payments for life in exchange for a gift of cash or securities to Wheaton.
Beneficiary Designation
You can designate Wheaton as a beneficiary of your retirement plans or life insurance policies. A clear advantage of this gift is that it does not impact your current lifestyle at all, but it does provide Wheaton with assets for its future stability.
