“The most important lesson I learned at Wheaton that I use every day is to accept challenges. I often doubted that I could properly complete a difficult assignment, but always ‘cowgirled up’ and eventually managed to do what I thought was impossible. In photography, there are always challenges, both aesthetic and technical.

I support the Wheaton Fund because I so value education and its lifelong benefits. I feel that if you enjoyed school, made some friends, and received an excellent education, you have a civic duty to give back and support your institution.”

Team Effort

“I made some of the best friends I could ever ask from at Wheaton, and maintaining a connection with those people and the school itself is a way for me to stay grounded in a world that can sometimes feel like an illusion. I benefited from the contributions that alums made to the Wheaton Fund. So, I feel that is everyone’s duty to support the school and be there for the current and future student body.”

Personal Approach

“I was a strong student for most of high school with a high GPA. Junior year, one of my best friends died and my grades suffered. Most colleges passed me over when they saw the decline, but I vividly remember getting a call from Wheaton. The admissions person could tell that something had happened to change my grades and wanted to discover why. To get a personal call asking those questions was very impressive. Wheaton cared. I consider it an honor and responsibility to stay connected 26 years later. The college gave me so much and continues to do so; it is important for me to give back.”
