SUMMARY:The ABCs of Storytelling and Artmaking for the creation of UNLADYLIKE2020
DESCRIPTION:Join Charlotte Mangin and Sandra Rattley\, the makers of UNLADYLIKE2020\, as they describe how they created a new visual vocabulary for documentary filmmaking in digital shorts\, while elevating the voices of unsung women and little-known heroines who shaped and changed America over 100 years ago\, and the women who now follow in their footsteps. In illustrative conversations\, Mangin and Rattley share insights on how they crafted the multi-media tools to present history in a bold new way—covering the early years of feminism and suffrage\, to the women-led anti-racist work of today. \nRegister on Zoom

SUMMARY:MAP Day

Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with all that Wheaton has to offer\, from academic opportunities like honors and scholars programs and student-faculty research\, to career connections through the Wheaton Edge funding and internship support\, to student activities and leadership opportunities. Come and build your plan for your own success and be a part of the Wheaton community. \nSessions for first-year students include time management\, funding 101\, and navigating the Compass curriculum. Sessions available for all include Career Services’ signature Wheaton to the World programs including alumni panels\, financial planning\, and internship and job search strategies. Community-building and anti-racist engagement will be featured in the final hour session hosted by Diversity\, Equity and Access Leadership (DEAL)\, focused on policing in America and the growth of the Black Lives Matter movement. \nA host of other activities will also take place\, including musical performances through dorm windows\, apple cider donuts on the Dimple\, introductions to new honors and scholars programs\, invitations to student activities and student activism\, and much\, much more.
