In addition to singing gospel music and spirituals with our visiting artist, the choirs will sing selections from African American composers including William Grant Still and Rosephanye Powell. Comprised of two-time Grammy-winning clarinetist Richard Stoltzman and virtuoso marimba player Mika Stoltzman, Duo Cantando joins the GWSO in a concert of jazz-inspired music by American composers. Featuring compositions by Leonard Bernstein, Chick Corea, James P. Johnson, and Florence Price. The GWSO will also premiere a new piece by Wheaton senior Hannah Merseal. Suggested donation $5.
