DESCRIPTION:Playwright Joyce Van Dyke\, director Judy Braha\, and actor Elaine Vaan Hogue talk about their collaboration on a new one-woman play featuring suffragist and abolitionist Julia Ward Howe\, who asks\, “What does it do to your soul if you don’t have representation?” The play is a fever dream and a call to action by Howe\, who was a playwright\, poet\, and founder of the American Woman Suffrage Association which supported voting rights for Black women as well as white women. DESCRIPTION:Wheaton is offering a new course this semester called FabAcademy and will be holding an info session for students who would like to learn more. If you are interested in participating in FabAcademy this year or in the future\, we recommend you attending. Students must be on campus next semester to take this course. \nSign up here. \n  \n“At the Fab Academy\, you will learn how to envision\, prototype and document your ideas through many hours of hands-on experience with digital fabrication tools.” Under the leadership of global instructor Neil Gershenfeld\, Wheaton students will be exposed to  innovative communities and ideas at a global level over the course of six months. Gershenfeld\, MIT Professor and Director of the Center for Bits + Atoms\, originally taught “How to Make Almost Anything” as an MIT course which grew into FabAcademy in 2009. Students who successfully complete FabAcademy will graduate with an extensive digital portfolio detailing their progress and final project. They will also gain the knowledge needed to take an idea from prototype to product. Wheaton will be the first college in New England to offer FabAcademy to its students. DESCRIPTION:This exhibition is an open call for postcard-sized responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. All submissions will be included in the exhibition and become part of the Wheaton College Permanent Collection. The exhibition is an effort to combat the social isolation this virus has forced on us. It is a chance to see\, through the eyes of another\, an expression of this experience. It is an opportunity to come together when we still have to remain physically apart.
