DESCRIPTION:How can you use your freedoms to support the positive advancement of specific causes and to represent the concern of others within a system (i.e.\, advocacy) and/or to bring about social and political change outside of systems (i.e.\, activism)? \nCome and hear from Wheaton community members who are successfully engaged in advocacy and activism work on and off campus. Topics for this conversation will include: \n\ndifferent approaches for effective advocacy and activism\nleadership skills for advocacy and activist work\nopportunities to engage in advocacy and activism work as a student\n\nRefreshments immediately following this event in Wooley Room.   \nThis community conversation is part of our campus-wide Three Freedoms theme. This program is sponsored by the Student Government Association (SGA)\, the Scholars At Risk (SAR) Committee\, the Center for Social Justice & Community Impact (SJCI)\, and the Office of the Provost. DESCRIPTION:  \nThis year\, Career Services hired 15 Career Peer Advisors to offer peer-to-peer career advising on a drop-in basis. The Career Design Studio is a dedicated space where these Career Peer Advisors are available Monday through Friday from 10:00am-3:00pm and Monday through Thursday from 7:00pm-9:00pm to meet with students and provide career advice. \nPlease stop by the Career Design Studio Launch Party on Friday\, September 13 from 3:00pm-4:00pm to celebrate our official opening with us\, enjoy snacks\, and meet our fabulous Career Peer Advisors. The entire campus community is welcome and we will also be joined by a special guest\, Roary Lyon!
