Congratulations, Class of 2015!
Wheaton College celebrated its 180th Commencement on Saturday, May 16, 2015, with alums, friends, family, staff, faculty and trustees sending off the 371 members of the Class of 2015 and wishing them well on their journey into the world. It was a particularly special occasion for the college’s eighth president, Dennis M. Hanno, who officiated his first Commencement at Wheaton.
Lisa G. Szarkowski, a Wheaton Class of 1990 graduate and vice president of humanitarian emergencies and executive communication for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, delivered the keynote address, urging graduates to hold onto their empathy in hopes of changing the world. During the ceremony, Szarkowski received an honorary degree, as did three other individuals: Steven A. Hawley, David Wagner and Virginia Weil ’65, P’98.
