English 101 Section A15. Writing about Myths and Fairy Tales

Why do myths still speak to us today? Why do archetypes from fairy tales still resonate? In this course, we will be reading translations of Greek and Roman mythology and world fairy tales, as well as reading and viewing both older and contemporary versions and re-imaginings of those works. You will have the opportunity to do lots of formal and informal writing, including both analytical and creative assignments. There will be peer workshops, individual conferences with the instructor, with an emphasis on the writing process and opportunities to revise.
