Norton Medical Center (NMC), Wheaton’s designated student health clinic, is a private neighborhood facility located on-campus and owned and operated by Sturdy Memorial Hospital Associates.  Same day appointments are generally available.  Please call for an appointment; NMC is not a walk-in clinic.  If you’re experiencing a medical condition/illness or a minor injury, the medical providers at NMC can offer evaluation and treatment.

A doctor-on-call is available to address your concerns.  Please call the answering service at 508-286-5400/01, identify yourself as a Wheaton student/Norton Medical Center patient, and ask to speak with the covering physician.

All students regardless of enrollment in a personal or the college sponsored health insurance are eligible to receive care at Norton Medical Center.  During the academic year, all student appointments are free of charge regardless of insurance coverage.  Labwork, immunizations, and procedures are charged to a student’s insurance.  Copays are waived; deductibles apply.  During the summer months, the visit, lab work, and procedure costs are charged to a student’s insurance.  For medical advice after hours, a doctor-on-call is available at 508-286-5400 to address your concerns.

  • On-campus Chiropractor, Dr. Sean Gallagher – Walk-in, every Thursday at 4 PM in the Athletic Training Room in Haas.  Call 508-286-3984 to confirm dates.  Health insurance card required for visit.
  • On-campus Nutritionist, Gretchen Stalters, MS, RD – To schedule appointment and discuss payment options, please contact Gretchen directly at 508-622-0813 or camtwins@comcast.net.
  • On-campus GYN care, Kelliann Bachand, NP – Routine GYN care on select Wednesdays throughout the semester at Norton Medical Center.  To schedule an appointment, please call  508-286-5400/01.  Health insurance card required for visit.
  • If you are enrolled in the college-sponsored Blue Cross Blue Shield Plan, call the Blue Care RN Line 24/7 for questions about symptoms or injuries:  588-247-2583.
  • On Friday nights, the WEMS, Wheaton’s Student EMT/First Responder group are on-call through Public Safety (508-286-3333) and respond to all medical events on-campus.
