While Boston is the birthplace of American liberty, it is also the birthplace of American mass transportation. The “T”, as it immediately came to be known in 1964, was one of the first combined regional transportation planning and operating agencies to be established in the United States. In terms of daily ridership, the MBTA remains the nation’s 5th largest mass transit system.
The closest station to Wheaton College is the Mansfield train station which is easily accessible through the GATRA Route 140 bus route.
The Mansfield Train Station carries the Providence/Stoughton Line which includes stops to Boston (South Station), Back Bay, Ruggles, Attleboro, and Providence.
