Wheaton’s lasting impact: “My First-Year Seminar with Professor Stephanie Daniels on theater and social change helped make sense of the brave new collegiate world I was entering into. I can recall amazing discussions with Professor Trevino in which we would speak about the complex nature of cultural identity among third-culture kids and how understanding the function of sociology as a framework for dissecting and gaining deeper understanding to who I was as a person and trying to figure out where I fit in society. I also remember the difficult courses with Professors Shawn Christian and Josh Stenger in the English department who challenged me to delve deep into theory and analysis.”

Building on extraordinary relationships: “Everyday I am reminded of the profound impact of Wheaton by the extraordinary relationships I developed from my time in Norton. Wheaton had such a positive impact in both my professional career as well as my own personal growth. I feel it is important to find ways to engage alumni across the spectrum and to remind them that while our relationship with Wheaton begins with four years on campus, our relationship with the greater Wheaton community should be a lifelong endeavor for the benefit of Wheaton’s past, present and future.”

Globetrotter: “I have traveled to 54 countries and 41 U.S. states and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. The best thing about it is I have seldom been to a place around this extraordinary globe where I wasn’t able to find a Wheatie to share a meal or a pint with. Talk about lucky, right?”
