Grace Kelly ’16
Alumni Association Board of Directors

Future-forward: “While at Wheaton, I was involved in many student clubs and organizations. I care about the college an institution and as a sacred place for students. I joined the board because I want to contribute to that legacy. I hope to serve as a liaison between the college and the young alumni, in particular.”

Wheaton rocks: “I took Geology 101 with Geoff Collins, which I loved so much that I took a seminar that included a trip to Death Valley, Calif., during spring break. I was the only non-science major in the course, and Professor Collins was encouraging and helpful in explaining complex scientific topics. He told me that I was going to do science and energy advocacy work at the federal level one day. And what do you know: My first job out of college, in Washington, D.C., was just that—international government relations work for an energy company—and I loved it. Another wonderful experience: studying abroad in Bhutan with Professor Elita Pastra-Landis. She pushed me in the classroom, in my writing and personally. She is a wonderful mentor and we continue to correspond to this day.”

Fun fact: “During the Head of the Peacock race my senior year, my house’s boat (Davis International House) won first place in the small crafts division of the race. President Hanno was supposed to sail across the pond on our ‘floatation device,’ but he declined, and I don’t blame him. I have many wonderful little victories while at Wheaton, but that one definitely goes down as the most ridiculous.”
