History

Understanding the past gives us context for today and helps us prepare for the future. Wheaton history majors preserve the past through internships with museums, libraries, and historical societies. They pursue independent research on an era, event, or figure that interests them. They study abroad to experience cultural history in person. Through all this, history majors build research, writing, critical thinking, and analytic skills, important assets to nearly any career. Many Wheaton history majors add a second area of study to expand their knowledge and career opportunities. Our alumni become teachers, professors, archivists, activists, librarians, and lawyers.
