What was memorable news story in your lifetime?

I follow the news, particularly political issues, very closely so there have been many memorable stories in my lifetime. I am an avid Boston Red Sox fan and watch as many games as possible, both on TV and at Fenway Park. Also, I love following the Tour de France.
