Making It Modern: Wheaton College and the International Style is a digital exhibit that follows the transformation of Wheaton’s built environment from its traditional ‘brick and ivy’ roots to its adoption of innovative Modernist styles of architecture. The exhibit is based on an exhibition of the same name that was on display in Wheaton’s Beard and Weil Galleries March 18 through April 16, 2009. The exhibition was curated by students in the course Exhibition Design during the Spring 2009.
The digital exhibit’s organization corresponds to that of the physical exhibition and is divided into four chronological sections: Early Days, the 1938 Competition, Modernism Realized, and Post-Modernism. One can navigate through these sections by using the right menu.
