Kate is Wallace Library’s Acquisitions and Metadata Librarian. She is responsible for creating and maintaining records, evaluating and approving monographic purchase requests in accordance with our collection development policy, and ensuring that our library holdings are accurate. In addition, she works with the Archives and Digital Initiatives team to catalog materials in the digital repository and artstor, is responsible for the assessment of the Library’s collection strategy, and collaborates with subject liaisons and faculty to enhance our library collections. Kate holds an MSLIS from Simmons College and an undergraduate degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges with a major in Media and Society and a minor in Art History.
Kate has a passion for traveling and photographing landscapes. Some of her favorites include the coastal cliffs of Monhegan Island, Maine, the sandy paths of Mafia Island, Tanzania, and the mountainous steps of Annapurna, Nepal. When she is not traveling (or dreaming of her next adventure), she enjoys reading, skiing, going on walks, and hanging out with her dog!
