The Fleet Safety Program is intended to ensure that maximum safety for all drivers and passengers of college-owned, leased or rented vehicles by minimizing vehicle incidents which may result in injury or property damage and to provide adequate training to all authorized drivers or authorized passenger van drivers. This program is administered by the Department of Public Safety in collaboration with Business Services and Physical Plant.

A motor vehicle record (MVR) check will be conducted by Business Services, and the application must successfully complete passenger van training under the direction of Public Safety. This training includes classroom instruction, a written examination and van orientation. How long is a Wheaton Authorized Driver License valid? The Wheaton Authorized Driver License is valid for one year. Motor vehicle record checks must be performed annually to renew your license. Passenger van training is a one-time requirement.
Do I need to submit the Motor Vehicle Driving Record Release and Authorization and/or the Disclosure and Acknowledgement form every year to renew my Wheaton Authorized Driver License? Resubmission of these forms is only necessary if you have had a change of name or address. They otherwise remain valid for the duration of your employment or enrollment as a student at Wheaton College. Authorized drivers will simply need to send an email to Business Services to request an annual MVR check.
