I would like to train and work with a Wheaton Research Partnership student in the techniques of proofreading and annotating a Spanish translation of the Renaissance Latin treatise Historia Naturæ, Maxime Peregrine (Antwerp, 1635) in order to complete the first modern edition of this volume of Natural History of Marvels. The student working on this project will gain expertise on how to make philological annotations of early modern Spanish books, and related areas. The student will be also working with digital images of the book, adding technical information to them, as well as bibliographical and historical data to the textual edition.
