Jonathan David Walsh
Professor of FrenchAfrican, African-American & Diaspora Studies Program
The AAADS program would like to hire a student beginning in Fall 2010 to help build a web site highlighting the advantages of the major, while providing a better understanding of the connections between Africa, the diaspora, and the U.S. The site would showcase the program’s emphasis on the intersections of race, gender and class; course connections involving AAADS courses; and the numerous study abroad experiences available to students in Africa and the Carribbean islands. It will link to the career paths of former majors and to examples of scholarship that may inspire specific research interests. Finally, it will provide updates on course offerings and AAADS-related events on or off campus. The student will work with the coordinator and other faculty members, as well as a web specialist from Instructional Technology.
Academic year: 2010-2011
