Anthony Grafton returns for WIIH inauguration

Dr. Anthony Grafton, Henry Putnam University Professor of History at Princeton University and 2011 President of the American Historical Association, will moderate the roundtable discussion inaugurating the Wheaton Institute for the Interdisciplinary Humanities.

A world renowned scholar on Renaissance, early modern, and medieval history spanning Europe, the Mediterranean world, and the Americas, Grafton is the author or co-author of more than thirty books and one of the most distinguished historians of his generation.

Among numerous awards, Grafton has won a Guggenheim Fellowship (1989), the Los Angeles Times Book Prize (1993), the Balzan Prize for History of the Humanities (2002), and the Mellon Foundation’s Distinguished Achievement Award (2003).

Grafton last appeared at Wheaton College as keynote speaker of the 2011 New England Renaissance Conference.
