Step 6: Approve
Outcome: Agreement that your site is ready to go live.
Duration: One hour session
Description: When you think the draft site is ready to go, we'll have a review meeting with your team (including the site owner), the Web Team and often someone from Communications or other interested departments. We'll plan for any last minute changes or technical issues, set a date for the site to go live, and discuss any remaining issues around replacing your current site. Please review and consider your site's structure and current state of all content before coming to the meeting, and start to think about how you'll publicize your new site.
Your department will need to confirm that they:
- understand the site's structure and are proud of its content;
- know how to keep it up-to-date on a regular basis and have at least two people assigned to do that;
- have a schedule to check in with the Web Team; and
- will participate in on-going education and site evaluation with the Web Team.
Sometimes a department will want to launch a simple site, and add new features in stages. That's fine with us. If there are features you hope to add, they should be added to the schedule we agree on at this time.
