As of September 19, 2011, Wheaton College will be providing fee-based computer repair services by our own technicians for personally-owned computers. If your computer needs to be repaired, you should bring it to the LIS Technology Support Center to have it checked. Personal Repairs will only be performed on Tuesday, and Thursday.

Services Provided
Application Installation - Install licensed software.
Network Connection / Configuration - Update OS and antivirus software, verify connection configurations.
Basic Virus and Malware Removal - Using Utility software, scan your hard drive and remove viruses, infected files, and malware applications. If BASIC removal process will not work, a full Wipe and Reinstall will be needed.
Wipe and Reinstall of your OS and Drivers - Wipe and reinstall your operating system and drivers. If you do not have your system disks, they can be obtained from the manufacturer or purchased from Tech Support (operating system only).
Wipe and Reinstall of your OS and Drivers with Data Recovery / Backup - In addition to Wipe and Reinstall we will try to recover data from your hard drive and create a backup copy for you on CD/DVD. If you do not have your system disks, they can be obtained from the manufacturer or purchased from Tech Support (operating system only).
Data Backup (Stable OS) - Back your data up to CD or DVD. Includes the media.
Data Recovery (Unstable OS) - We will attempt to recover your data from a computer that will not boot normally. Includes the media.
Computer Tune Up and General Maintenance - Using utility software and system tools we will boost performance of your computer.
Basic Hardware Repair and Upgrade- We will diagnose the computer and tell you what to order to repair or upgrade it. Depending on the diagnosis, we may or may not be able to install parts for you.
Recycling Services for your Personal Equipment - Secure Erase of your hard drive and disposal (you remove) Removal of your hard drive, Secure Erase, and disposal (we remove) Recycle dropped off equipment, without erasing.
