  Details: Network service to the Mars Center for Science and Technology will be interrupted for a maintenance window to activate redundant network connections to the building.  While this work is being performed wired and wireless network service in the building will be intermittent.

  When:	Thursday, March 15, 2012  4:30pm - 5:00 pm

  Details: In our continuing effort to improve LIS services, we will be performing some back-end changes to the Barracuda Anti-Spam mail server to help increase accuracy. There will be no downtime during this process and it will not require any action on your part.

  Why:Reminder - Distributing copyrighted materials without the consent of the owner is against federal law. It is Wheaton policy to respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement
  DETAILS:DMCA infringements over the last 6+ years:
  2006 – 37 infringements
  2007 – 111 infringements
  2008 – 19 infringements
  2009 – 18 infringements
  2010 – 23 infringements
  2011 - 40 infringements
  2012 - 7 infringements (so far)

  Though file sharing through Peer to Peer (P2P) software has become commonplace in its use in distributing copyrighted material it is a violation of Federal Law. You may be familiar with some Peer-to-Peer (P2P) sharing programs, Ares, Bearshare, BitTorrent, Kazaa, Limewire, Morpheus, or Instant Messenger file transfers but their use for sharing copyrighted materials is illegal.
