Intranet Software Server for Site-Licensed Software

As a Wheaton College Faculty/Staff member or student, you have the ability to quickly and easily download and install site licensed software.

Below is a partial list of the software that is currently available for download (updated 6/6/2011). If a piece of software that you are interested in is NOT listed, please contact the LIS Technical Support Staff at x3900 and request the product (they may have it available on a CD for you to sign out.)

Instructions for connecting to the software area are listed below. If during an installation you are asked for a license code (sometimes referred to as a "product registration code" or "installation code") please look at the corresponding "license.txt" file located in the installation folder.

Available Software For Downloading

  • Meeting Maker Millennium 8.6.2 client (Macintosh and only for those with accounts) - Located underneath "Meeting_Maker_8.6.2_Clients" --> "862_osx_client_en"
  • Meeting Maker Millennium 8.6.2 client (Windows and only for those with accounts) - Located underneath "Meeting_Maker_8.6.2_Clients" --> "862_win_client_en"
  • Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 (Windows)Please do not install this software on your Windows computer if you have less than 1 GB of memory.Located underneath "Microsoft Office Information" --> "Office 2007 - Win" --> "Office 2007"...etc.

    Before download, please check our software sales policy.

    To install this application run the setup.exe.

    After installation please visit the Microsoft office support site and select "downloads" then "check for updates". This will scan your system for any necessary software updates.

  • Microsoft Office 2008 or 2011 (Macintosh OS X ONLY) - Located underneath "Microsoft Office Information" --> "Office 2008 - Mac"...etc.

Connecting From Within Windows XP

  • Single right mouse click on My Computer and select Map Network Drive...
  • For the drive letter select S:
  • For the folder enter in \\netspace.wheatonma.edu\shared
  • Click on the link labeled Connect using a different username
  • In the User Name field enter in WC\wXXXXXXXX and replace wXXXXXXXX with your Wheaton w ID.
  • In the Password field enter in your email password
  • Select OK then Finish
  • On the S: drive go to the software folder

Connecting From Macintosh OSX

  • From the Finder menu select the Go heading then select Connect to Server...
  • In the Server Address: field enter in smb://netspace.wheatonma.edu/shared then select Connect
  • In the Workgroup or Domain field enter in WC
  • In the Name field enter in your Wheaton w ID using a lowercase w
  • In the Password field enter in your email password
  • Select OK
  • On the newly mapped volume go inside the software folder
