What is it?

VoiceThread is an online collaboration tool that offers a way to post an image or video (among other formats) and collect audio commentary from different users. Each commentary becomes an icon adjacent to the
subject image, resulting in a "halo" of commentaries.

What is it good for?

  • It's perfect for visual disciplines that explore multiple perspectives.
  • Unlike a wiki, which is essentially text-based, VoiceThread literally places the image at the center. This can be useful for faculty who wish to break free of text-based analysis
