January Technology Immersion Program: January 10–21, 2011

January 10–21, 2011

Why waste your January break waiting for the semester to start? Return to Wheaton a couple of weeks early to get hands-on technology training and the opportunity to put it to work for a real client!

Here's how it works: for $350, you get two weeks of full-time, intensive experience in a set of technologies, taught by Wheaton's instructional technologists. Housing on the Wheaton campus is included.

You have a choice of three streams:

Graphic design with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
Learn the industry standards in graphic design while producing a collaborative gallery of art with like-minded fellow students. The first week will delve into Photoshop, the second into Illustrator

Learn how to capture and compose using images (moving and still), sound, and images+sound. Anyone can take a photo or video; we will also teach you how to tell a story well and make it look and sound good. The multimedia teams will be working with the web teams to collaboratively put together multimedia websites

Web design
You will learn and apply HTML and CSS code standards (with maybe a touch of Javascript if we have time) for building websites. This is hands-on, active learning where you apply what you learn immediately, and will have an opportunity to leave after two weeks with the first entry in your web portfolio
