Financial aid options
Comparing financial aid offers from various colleges can be confusing. Whether it’s understanding your financial aid award letter, or even just the whole process of applying for financial aid, Wheaton is here to help you. The counselors in our Student Financial Services Office are available to answer questions or walk you through the process.
A few important items to note:
Types of aid
Scholarships and grants are awards that you do not have to pay back. Loans do need to be paid back, typically after you graduate or leave college. Work-study is a way to earn money to help pay for school through on-campus jobs.
Merit scholarships
Your acceptance letter from Wheaton indicates any merit scholarship that you may have been awarded. Log in to your applicant portal and review your letter for details.
Need-based aid
You may be eligible for need-based aid (from Wheaton or the federal/state governments). You will need to complete the FAFSA to officially be awarded need-based aid. The school code for Wheaton that you will need to enter on the FAFSA is 002227.
The FAFSA is now available: Even though the federal government delayed the release of the FAFSA this year, it is now available. We strongly encourage completing it as soon as possible. The sooner you complete it, the quicker we can get an official award letter to you.
Enroll now
Secure your spot at Wheaton by logging into your applicant portal. Then click on the “Enroll Now” link. Follow the prompts to complete the form and submit your enrollment deposit payment (if applicable).
Deposit deadlines:
- Early Action and Regular Decision: May 1
- Early Decision I, Early Decision II and transfer students: please refer to your decision letter for your enrollment deadline.
After we receive your deposit, you’ll receive your Wheaton ID and email address in late spring. In the meantime, save the date for Summer Orientation. Then, stay tuned for more exciting announcements for new students.

Are first-year students allowed to have cars on campus?

Is on-campus housing guaranteed all four years?
Yes.
When do I register for classes?
You will receive notification from Wheaton in the coming months about orientation, housing and course registration. For more information about orientation, see the Wheaton Orientation page.

Does Wheaton offer credits for Dual Enrollment, AP scores or IB Diploma results?
College-level credits that you may have earned through dual enrollment or special examinations may be applied toward major requirements, as appropriate.
