Wednesday, December 21st, 2011On January 3rd, 2012, we will officially begin accepting applications for SILCS 2012. Our applications are currently live on our How To Apply page. Please check it out!
Just a note: due to technical difficulties, we won’t be able to accept faxes until most likely January 4. We’ll let you know if that changes.
The application deadline is Friday, February 10. Have a happy holiday season!
EXTENDED DEADLINE
Monday, February 14th, 2011We have extended the deadline to this Friday, Feb 18. If you were planning on applying to SILCS but couldn’t make the deadline, you have another chance. Apply now!

Application deadline for 2010
Tuesday, February 9th, 2010The deadline for applying for SILCS 2010 is Wednesday, February 10th. If you are planning on applying, please don’t miss it! Due to the blizzard that is expected to hit tomorrow, there may not be someone in the office all day, especially in the late afternoon, but we will be checking email. Applications for SILCS 2010
Friday, December 18th, 2009Application forms for SILCS 2010 have been added to our how to apply page. We will accept applications between Jan 4, 2010 and Feb 10, 2010. Please note that our application requires the following:
- A completed application form with attached writing sample that you will work with during the Institute for use as a graduate application essay.
- A signed sponsor form by a faculty member in your department who is willing to mentor you over the next year as you begin to apply for graduate programs.
- An official transcript.
- A confidential online survey. Information about this survey will be sent to you once you have completed the rest of the application.

Applications update
Friday, March 20th, 2009The decision for the students accepted into the 2009 institute has been delayed until the beginning of April. All applicants will be notified of the status of their applications at that time.
Applications due Feb 20
Thursday, February 12th, 2009Applications for SILCS 2009 are due Friday, February 20. Remember, the program is open to anyone in their junior year of college with one year of schooling ahead of them. If you are attempting to fax your application and having trouble, please be patient: due to the high volume of applications, the line may be busy. Please wait and try again.
