Outdoors Club
Posted on September 13, 2010
The Outdoors Education Club runs trips that get people outside, learning about local nature areas, all while promoting outdoor recreation. Trips the club ranges from walks in the Wheaton woods to backpacking trips in New England, as well as other activities such as rock climbing, canoeing, snowshoeing, kayaking, and stargazing. Trips are open to the entire campus via the Outdoors Club listserv, as well as posting trips on the Wheaton Calendar. The trips typically occur on the weekends and can be led by anyone in the club. The Outdoors Club works in close junction with the Outdoor Education House, where each resident leads at least one trip a semester. Our goal is spread our love of the outdoors to all members of the Wheaton campus and to get everyone who is interested, no matter their skill level, involved in outdoor recreation. We do trips during all seasons and for all ability levels.
