Habitat for Humanity

Posted on September 13, 2010

Habitat for Humanity is an organization that provides homes for low-income families. Wheaton’s chapter of Habitat spends time raising money for local affiliates as well as participating in building homes within the area. Each year we organize a spring break trip to work with other Habitat affiliates in another part of the country. Other past events held by Wheaton’s chapter include a sleep out in the dimple, volunteering at a local food pantry, and a hammering contest during Homecoming weekend. Our main goal on campus is to spread awareness about homelessness and to provide a way for students to take action and connect with the wider community.
