Work experience goes beyond college

We're always delighted when our students share positive feedback about their employment experiences. This recent note, from Jessica K., is an example:
Student Financial Services has always worked to increase efficiency and technology to provide the student body and their families with better service. The most recent project that the office has been working on is the integration of a new scanning and imaging program that will lead to a paperless filing system.
I spent my Spring break at Student Financial Services and was trained by both my supervisor Beth Canulla and David Tice to use the scanning and imaging program. It was interesting to learn how the program works and it was a great experience because we were able to collectively work together and overcome any issues that normally arise when a new program is put into place.
The program itself is very efficient. When our office receives documents, they are inputted into our imaging software. These documents will then be accessible to the staff with a click of a button, allowing the entire office to be more efficient and green. After the week of training, I put together a manual for the other students in the office, all of who I trained in the few weeks after Spring break. Because a majority of the student staff now knows how to work the program, the office is starting their transition between paper files to electronic files.
This new program is great, and I am very appreciative that I was able to have even a small part in it. In a world that is progressively becoming paperless, I feel that my experience with this program will be valuable beyond my college working experience!
