Bresnahan is a finalist in YouTube's Space Lab contest

Wheaton's Emerald Bresnahan '15 wonders whether a better understanding of snowflake formation could help us better understand the universe. She designed a fascinating experiment while taking Professor Tim Barker's course "The Universe" and received some excellent feedback from Barker.
Bresnahan submitted her experiment to YouTube's Space Lab competition, where it was selected as a finalist from more 2,000 entries. Her work has been featured in The Boston Globe and The Washington Post recently.
If Bresnahan's experiment is selected as one (of two) contest winners in March, it will be performed in space. Here she is explaining what she'd like astronauts to try:
