Trainings

The following are trainings facilitated by the Safe Zone Student Ambassadors:

  • Ally 101
Challenge preconceived notions on sexuality, review basic definitions, understand the coming out process, learn paths to being an ally, and discover resources. Fall 2011: November 18.
  • Transgender 101
Challenge preconceived notions on gender, review basic definitions, understand the transition process, learn paths to being an ally, and discover resources. Participants must have completed Ally 101 Training before attending this workshop. Spring 2012: April 13.

After each training, participants will have an opportunity to sign an Agreement Form which indicates that they have completed that training and commit themselves to being an ally. In addition, participants will receive a placard with the Safe Zone logo (Ally 101) or a “T” sticker (Transgender101) in order to visibly identify themselves as a Certified Member.
