  • Thursday, October 4 - Coming Out: Steps, Process & Life Long Journey
    New Yellow Parlor, Balfour Hood @ 6pm
    Kevin Henze, LGBT Outreach Counselor from the Wheaton Counseling Center will speak about the stages to coming out, the process, the impact and the inevitable transformation.
  • Sunday, October 7- Oct 19 - Ally: What Does It Mean?
    The Buzz, Chase, Emerson & Davis Cafe
    Write your definition of what it means to be an ally for the LGBTQ community then slip it into one of the boxes found around campus. At the end of the week, a community flag will be made from these slips.
  • Thursday, October 11
    • National Coming Out Day
      An internationally observed civil awareness day celebrating individuals who publicly identify as bisexual, gay, lesbian, transgender—coming out regarding one's sexual orientation and/or gender identity being akin to a cultural rite of passage for LGBT people.
    • Ally 101 Training
      Media Center, Balfour Hood @ 6pm
      In this workshop you will be able to challenge preconceived notions on sexuality, review basic definitions, understand the coming out process, learn paths to being an ally and discover resources. RSVP required.
    • Take A Walk In My Shoes
      Throughout campus
      Follow the footsteps and it will lead you to the narratives of those whom have come out. As you read them, ask yourself the following questions: Can I come out? Am I ready to come out? Would my parents be supportive?
  • Saturday, October 13 - An Intimate Evening with Levi Kreis
    Weber Theater, Watson @ 7:30pm
    Kris won a 2010 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. Among his accomplishments, Kreis' third cd landed a spot on the annual Out100 list from Out Magazine.
  • Thursday, October 18 - Movie Night
    New Yellow Parlor @ 6pm
    Enjoy a movie with popcorn and treats.
  • Friday, October 19

    • Pride March
      Cafe Landing, Balfour Hood @ 1pm
      Come join the march! Print your hand onto the banner and end with smiles and new friends.
    • Drag Show
      Chapel @ 10pm
      Come vogue with Wheaton's favorite Queen, Haley Star!
  • Thursday, October 25 - Coming Out in the Workplace
    New Yellow Parlor, Balfour Hood @ 6pm
    A Wheaton Alum returns to give a session on what it means to come out in the workplace.
