Campus Orientation & Registration Experience
Welcome to Wheaton! The Wheaton community is dedicated to making you, new students and families, welcome. With a large team of students, faculty and staff who love this college and all it stands for, we are here to orient and assist you in any way. We are also excited for you to join us for our new and improved orientation program, Campus Orientation & Registration Experience (CORE). The CORE program has been designed in a two part series in order for new students and families to better connect to all facets of Wheaton.
Fall Semester Admission (August 2015)
The first part of the CORE program is in June, where new students (Class of 2019) will register in advance to attend workshops, advising sessions and register for classes. This program features an overnight component in order for you to spend quality time meeting faculty, staff, current students and other new students.
Continued summer outreach to our new students will happen via our OnBoard@Wheaton program.
We recognize that some members of the Class of 2019 were unable to attend CORE June. Fortunately, we are now able to offer another opportunity to meet with advisors and choose courses for the fall: OnBoard@Wheaton - One Day Program will take place on Monday, June 29, 2015 from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm. Space for this program is limited.
OnBoard@Wheaton - One Day Program is a half-day experience for new students that will give you the chance to speak with advisors, learn more about the Wheaton curriculum and register for courses. We will have student leaders and Academic Advising deans on site to guide new student in course selection.
The final part of the general CORE program is in August where all new students will move into their residence halls and officially become part of the Wheaton community. During these three days there will be a host of activities to introduce new students to the first year at Wheaton.
Spring Semester Admission (January 2016)
A small group of students are accepted or transfer in to Wheaton during January each year. This group of students is welcomed by student leaders, staff and faculty. Because it is such a small group we try to provide a unique introduction to Wheaton, while sharing resources and quickly acclimating you to campus.
This is a very important transition in your life and we are here to make sure you succeed! CORE will help all new students feel connected and comfortable on their new campus.
