The Season of Dance

Posted on February 15, 2013

Want to add some heat to this cold weather?  Then get ready for two back-to-back weekends of some hot and flavorful dance performances organized and performed by your fellow Wheaton students!

To kick things off, Tap Out Loud and Paraíso Latino will present the second annual Festival of Dance on Friday, February 15th and Saturday, February 16th at 7:30 in Weber Theatre, Watson Fine Arts.  Come see these two groups perform student choreographed pieces they have been working on all year long.  Watch as your peers explore a variety of dance traditions such as salsa, bachata, tap dancing, and even belly dance!  Tickets are free, but there early to ensure you get a great seat to support these two fantastic groups.

Not enough dance for you yet?

Don’t miss the annual TRYBE Gala the following weekend on Thursday, February 21st, Friday, February 22nd, and Saturday, February 23rd at 7:30 in Weber Theatre. Tickets are also free, but must be reserved in advance by calling the Trybe Ticket Line at 508-286-3365.  Come see some creative student-choreographed pieces touching on a variety of cultures.  At the show, you will also see fantastic guest performances by SOLE, the Wheaton College Dance Company, iSpeak, Lymin Lyons, and Taylor Wright-Sanson!  With this year’s gala theme being “Back to School,” you can be sure the performances will be an A+!
