Special Interest Housing
Students interested in a Special Interest Housing option must register in advance to be placed in a special lottery. Just like General Lottery, availability of singles, doubles, etc will be limited. We use the advanced registration to better ensure that space will be available for those interested.
Prior to registration, please review the appropriate Community Contract (if applicable) to ensure that you agree with the Community Standards that are specific to that area. Registering for the lottery is an acknowledgement and commitment to that document.
You will be able to register starting on March 1, 2014 through 9am on April 10, 2014.
Unfortunately due to the structure and timing of the room selection process, we can only allow an individual to register for one of the three options:
1. Single Sex Housing
Only one sex is allowed to reside in an area designated as "Single Sex." In the past it has been a combination of a wing, floor, or entire building. Although final determination of what will be all-female or all-male is based on the demand, we anticipate offering similar residence hall options each year.
2. Quiet Study Housing
All residents agree to abide by a 24-hour study environment which includes extended quiet and courtesy hours.
Residents who select to live in this area are required to abide by the Quiet Study Community Contract. Please review this form: you will be asked to acknowledge and agree to it's contents when you register.
3. Wellness Housing
Students living in "Wellness" housing commit to abstain from the use of cigarettes, alcohol, and other drugs. Once you select a room in a designated Wellness area, you will be required to sign a contract confirming that commitment. Exactly what buildings/floors are classified as Wellness depends in large part on the demand each year, we expect Larcom Hall and Young Hallto be Wellness Housing next year.
Residents who select to live in this area are required to abide by the Wellness Community Contract. Please review this form: you will be asked to acknowledge and agree to it's contents when you register.
