Living Off Campus

Posted on January 27, 2011

The application deadline for Off Campus Housing has passed.  To be placed on the wait list, please complete the application and submit it to Residential Life.

Living Off Campus

Wheaton College is a residential community, but each year a select group of senior students can have their housing requirement waived and be given permission to live off-campus.  Waivers are granted for a full academic year only.  To be considered for approval you must fit these criteria:

  • You must have senior standing in the year intended to live off campus or be over 23 years of age by the beginning of the academic year
  • You must be in good academic standing
  • You must be in good social standing

How to Apply

Interested students will need to complete an Application Campus Housing Waiver.

The Regular Decision deadline is Friday, March 9, 2012.

The Early Decision deadline is Wednesday, November 29, 2011. Early Decision is for students who know they want to live off campus and would like to be able to sign a lease as soon as possible.

Please Note

  • Individuals who do not complete the waiver and/or have not been granted approval are expected to live on campus and will be charged room and board for the academic year regardless of any other arrangements or agreements that you have made.
  • Students granted approval to live off campus will not be able to take part in the room selection process.
  • Explicit instructions and other requirements are included in the application.  Please review that document carefully.

If you have any questions, please contact Ed Burnett.
