Academics

Course Load

A minimum of 7 credits must be elected during 2 consecutive semesters. Any course load of less than 4.0 courses or more than 5.5 per semester requires the approval of the Committee on Academic Standing.

A note regarding courses and credits: The unit of credit is the semester course.  One credit toward the 32 (academic) required for the degree is usually awarded upon the completion of a semester course.  Although some courses may award variable credit such as 1.5 or 0.5 and may also fulfill a major requirement, these courses are added to the credit total at their fractional value.  Please be aware of this as you progress toward the completion of your degree. You must have a minimum of 31.8 academic credits to graduate.  If you have any questions or concerns about course credit, contact the Office of the Registrar.
