Wheaton Equestrian sees changes, success in 2012
Posted on February 24, 2012
The 2011-2012 season has been an eventful and successful season for the Wheaton Equestrian team. Wheaton Equestrian Head Coach Amanda Hare has announced it will be her last year at the helm for the equestrian team, as she wishes to spend more time with her three children. Coach Hare has been with the team for over 10 years and has brought Wheaton to the zones level and national levels numerous times. Although she is no longer going to be coaching, Hare hopes to stay involved with the team as much as possible over the coming years. The Wheaton Equestrian team is very sad to lose her as a coach and mentor but support her decision to tend to her family.
The Wheaton College Equestrian team was happy to announce the hiring of Anna Machonis and Merideth Milliner as the new coaches for the team. Under the guidance of Machonis and Milliner, the Equestrian team looks for continued success as they start the next chapter in the team's history.
Amongst the changes, the team has also experienced a successful run this year. From the Fall season, two riders, Alexandra Lund and Andrew Rosenblatt, qualified for Regionals and have high expectations of making it to Zone Levels. The team is hoping to continue this success in the spring season as they start their shows on February 25th versus Boston College
