Faculty Lunch Talks Continue!

Posted on March 11, 2011

Translating Apuleius' Euphuistic Golden Ass is one thing, but how do you translate the only post-Ciceronian law court speech to survive from antiquity? The first Latin philosophical text to contain a diagram? An obscene poem in iambics? A set of warm-up pieces for an audience eager for rhetorical entertainment? A translation of a translation? And how do you translate a diagram anyway? Professor of Classics and Associate Provost Joel Relihan reveals all in "Translating Apuleius, Round Two: The differences genres make." The Talk is scheduled for Monday, March 21 at 12:30 in the President's Dining Rooms.
