Physical Plant

Physical Plant is responsible for providing and maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable living and working environment for the students, faculty and staff.

The Physical Plant Area includes nine departments: Grounds, Building Services, Carpenters, Electrical, HVAC, Locksmith, Painters, Plumbers, and the Power Plant. In addition, the Chief Engineer of the Power Plant oversees Woodard and Curran's operations of the campus waste-water treatment facility. In addition to ongoing housekeeping and maintenance, Physical Plant provides support and guidance for capital improvement projects: from oversight of construction, installation and updating of fire protection services to the creation of new living spaces. For faculty and staff who require services (students should contact their area coordinator), the Physical Plant work order form is located in the list of services on the Welcome page of insideWheaton. A work order should be submitted for all NON-emergency requested work, such as moving a file cabinet, maintenance-related repairs and painting, transferring records to storage, etc. If you have questions, or need assistance, call Erin Owens in the Physical Plant office at ext. 3880. For emergency issues, please call the Physical Plant office at ext. 3880 to report the problem. The office will then contact the appropriate department for response. Typical issues that fit the emergency category include loss of electricity, clogged toilet, leaking or flooding.
