Send your paper to a Philosophy Conference: 2-1-11 deadline

The Third Annual North Shore Undergraduate Philosophy Conference will be held at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts on Saturday, April 2nd, 2011.


Dr. Alisa Bokulich, Director of the Center for the History and Philosophy of Science at Boston University will be the keynote speaker. Her paper is entitled: Is Pluto a Planet? Folk Concepts and Natural Kinds in Astronomy.

The theme for this year’s conference is Philosophy and Science. Papers from all areas concerning the relation of philosophy and science are welcome; including: philosophy and technology, bioethics, science and method, religion and science, science and laws of nature, metaphysics and science, realism and anti-realism, gender and science, the implications of neuroscience for ethical theory, etc.

Submissions will be accepted from undergraduate students only. Full papers, not exceeding 3000 words and accompanied by a 150 word abstract, must be received by February 1, 2011. All submissions must be prepared for blind review and thus must contain no identifying information.
