Join us for Homecoming 2009
Homecoming is happening on October 2-3, and you're invited! There's a full slate of entertainment and sporting events on tap, so be sure to check out the schedule and register online at the Homecoming website.
Readings by the Writer
Award-winning poet and author Gardner McFall, Wheaton Class of 1974, will visit campus on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 5 p.m. to give a poetry reading for students. McFall will read from her new collection of poems, Russian Tortoise, in Ellison Lecture Hall in Watson Fine Arts. The event is open to the campus community as well as the public. (Read more.)
Happy demisemiseptcentennial!
Wheaton is celebrating its 175th anniversary with a yearlong series of events that will begin on Homecoming weekend with a celebration of Founder’s Day and a 200th birthday party for Eliza Baylies Chapin Wheaton. Mrs. Wheaton played a central role in founding the institution that became Wheaton College. (Read more.)

Take a fun and informative tour through college history via the newly revamped website of the Marion B. Gebbie Archives and Special Collections. There's plenty to discover: college traditions, online photo exhibitions, resources for researchers and an "ask the archivist" feature. Check it out.
Nominations needed!
The Alumnae/i Association is seeking nominations to fill several key volunteer leadership positions on the Alumnae/i Board of Directors as well as nominations for the Alumnae/i Achievement Awards, presented at Reunion and Homecoming Weekends. Please submit nominations for board positions by Nov. 7 and for Achievement Awards by Nov. 14. Learn more and nominate alums online here.

ATHLETICS
Welcome back, Zach
He was a campus leader in his student days. Now Zach Hicks '07 has returned to Wheaton as the Athletic Department's coordinator for varsity sports and external relations. Hicks will join the department's senior management staff and serve as an assistant coach for the men's and women's swimming & diving programs. (Read more.)
