Grammy Award winning tenor John Aler to perform at Wheaton

As part of Wheaton College[base ']s Mary Bloor Loser [base ']42 Musical Series, Grammy Award-winning tenor John Aler will perform in the Cole Memorial Chapel on Thursday, April 6 at 8 p.m. Aler will be accompanied by Martin Katz on piano.
Aler has been acclaimed for his accomplishments in the worlds of opera, oratorio, orchestral concerts and recitals. His ability to combine vocal beauty, musicality, stylistic awareness and vocal virtuosity have made him a favorite with conductors, audiences and critics, while his large and varied discography has spread his fame far beyond the concert hall.
Aler has received two Grammy Awards and was voted ''Best Classical Vocal Soloist'' by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. The Washington Post described Aler as ''an artist of rare achievements...packed with musicality of the highest order.'' The New York Times cited Aler as ''unconventional in his technique...a favorite of maestros around the world.''
