IMAGINE unveils emerging technology
The InterMedia Arts Group Innovation Network, or IMAGINE, recently held an open house in Watson 138 to offer the Wheaton community an opportunity to experience virtual reality. Donning high-tech gear, participants got a chance to engage in creating 3D paintings using Google Tilt Brush. Last summer, IMAGINE purchased two HTC Vive VR headsets to allow students, staff and faculty to explore new possibilities in art, teaching, design and storytelling. The November 18 event was the first time the emerging technology was unveiled and experienced on campus. Professors Kelly Goff, Jason Goodman and Patrick Johnson were on hand to host the fun. There is much more to come next semester with new maker spaces.
