Haiti Benefit Concert
Wheaton College students raise $1,380 during event
Artists in the Wheaton community came together to help the efforts in Haiti after its devastating earthquake. The idea was the brainstorm of Paul Roell '11, a member of the all-male a cappella group Gentlemen Callers. Roell worked closely with Student Government Association president Gabe Amo '10 along with seniors Chris Romilly and Laura Peters to coordinate the performances.
"The evening was special because it reflected all that's good about the Wheaton community: collaboration, concern for others and connectedness with one another. The one thing you can guarantee about Wheaton students—when there is a call, they will act. Hopefully we will continue to do so in support of people facing tragedy like those in Haiti and wherever we're needed around the world," said Amo.
Performance groups included Voices United to Jam, The Whims, The Gentlemen Callers, The Blend, The Wheatones, The Wheaton Dance Company, Paraiso Latino and iSpeak!
