Freeman Hrabowski III, president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), and a leading advocate for high-achieving minority students in science, will address the Class of 2007 at Wheaton's 172nd Commencement on May 19, 2007.

Although out of the daily media, New Orleans and its surrounding areas continue to recover and rebuild after the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina. Wheaton students and staff witnessed the destruction first-hand last week during a volunteer mission to help rebuild communities near New Orleans.
